Rolling Babies

Gray rolled over this week. It was incredibly exciting. He actually has been practicing time on his tummy and got strong very quickly and surprised me when he rolled from his tummy to his back. He only does it when he's in the mood so I haven't snapped a picture of him yet but I'm hoping to get a little video action of him.

The Pie Maker

I made a pie! An apple one and it smells delicious. I haven't tried it yet, but it smells really good. Once it cools off, I'll let you know how it tastes. It's the first one I've made by myself and in this oven. Hopefully that isn't a disastrous combo.

Okay, so the pie wasn't quite what I wanted it to be. I think my oven needs to keep it in a little longer. And the crust was just a smidge too thick for my liking and I forgot to add the little bit of sugar to it. But I'll be trying again next week!

Winter, Winter Go Away!

Bring back Summer any day!

Usually I am a huge fan of winter time but this year I can't wait for spring. I'm not able to head to the mountains, which normally would be a big disappointment with the record-breaking year we're having, but I'm so content at home with Gray that I hardly think about it.

But this weather is making it hard to get outside for walks and Maggie is very irritated. We did venture out yesterday and she was soooo happy. Gray did awesome. He just looked around and we talked to each other as we walked. Pretty good day I must say.

I guess the other thing I hate about winter are all the germs that thrive in our cold weather. I never worried about it much before but with a little guy around, it's an ever-present concern. But he's survived so far so I guess he's much more resilient than I thought (plus the breastmilk is incredible stuff). But I digress.

Before you know it will be spring/summer and we'll be working in the yard (which we're going to landscape this year, yay!) and cleaning up dog poop galore. Hmmm, maybe I had better rethink my impatience with the season...

Another Well Child Check up

Grayson had his 4 month well child check up yesterday. It was about a week early but I wanted to get his shots out of the way. He did so well and was cooing, giggling, kicking and smiling for the doctor. He, of course, cried when the shots came but he did great later and only had a bit more fussiness.

He's up to 12.12 pounds which puts him in the 50th percentile for a 4 month old which is actually really good considering he's really only 3 months due to his premature arrival. He's 25 inches long and his head is 15.5 inches in circumference. Way to go buddy!

So no more shots for a couple of months and then not until the end of his 9th month. I just can't believe how fast time is going!

Daniel & Lindsey sittin' in a tree...

My brother is officially engaged to Lindsey now! They've been friends for a couple of years now and decided that they were both ready to spend the rest of their lives together!

Lindsey is wonderful and fits in with our family (not that that is required criteria, but it sure is nice!).

They plan to tie the proverbial knot at the end of this coming June at mom and dad's. It will be an outdoor wedding with a nice big BBQ. I think dad is going to make one of those awesome barrel bbq's because they can cook so much at once. Mom will make the cake and the rest should be handled through rentals and Lindsey's mom is buying the flowers.

Her dress is beautiful and it sounds like it will be very fun, relaxed and classy!

Congratulations little brother!!

Quitting work!

I've started the process of leaving the workforce to stay home and do what I feel God is calling me to do, be a mommy!

I love being home with Gray and now that my leave is nearly up (Feb 3) I need to tell my manager. I decided that even though I'm only required to notify HR that it would be more my style if I contacted him and met in person. So that's happening next Wednesday at 2pm. Pray for me!
